Cult scooter adorns five euro coin
The Italian state honors the cult scooters of the Vespa brand with a special five euro coin. This is approved as an official means of payment, but of course a shame for that.

Honors will abound in what is a real icon. The Vespa is undoubtedly one of the undisputed icons among two-wheelers: the scooter first made the Italians mobile again after the Second World War and then began its triumphal march around the world. After more than 70 years of market presence, the Vespa enthusiasm has remained unbroken to this day, and the end of the wave is not in sight.
Vespa coin from 40 euros
Vespa
The three-pack of Vespa coins costs 100 euros.
The meaning of Vespa The Italian Ministry of Finance has recognized her home country as a sympathetic ambassador of the “Italian Way of Life” and is now awarding her a numismatic honor: the state mint issues three Vespa coins. The front shows the current Vespa model Primavera, optionally in the Italian national colors red, green or white, the back shows the first model that came onto the market in spring 1946. With a value of five euros, the coins can also be used as official means of payment, but they are far too good for that – and also too expensive.
The coins cost 40 euros each, the three-pack is available for 100 euros, plus shipping costs – ten euros in Italy, 20 euros in other European countries. To be ordered via the Internet shop of the Italian state mint. You can go straight to the English-language page with the Vespa coins here.
