The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has agreed on an industrial cooperation with GasGas. The joint venture is to be led by KTM.

KTM is expanding its presence in Spain, there should be an industrial collaboration with Gasgas Motorcycles, such as KTM notifies. Negotiations with Black Toro Capital – the owners of Gasgas Motorcycles – have been successfully concluded.

In addition to the trial and enduro motorcycles from Gasgas, new models are to be developed. As part of the joint venture, in which KTM holds 60 percent, the production of gas gas products and Torrot electric vehicles will be continued in Girona / Spain. No information was given on financial details. With its 60 percent stake, KTM will de facto be in charge of GasGas in the future.

Gasgas is to be the third brand to belong to the KTM Group’s sales network alongside KTM and Husqvarna. The transaction is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities.

GasGas mainly produces competition motorcycles for enduro and trial sports and currently employs around 350 people. Torrot is a former bicycle manufacturer and is now exclusively involved in the construction of small electric two-wheelers. A segment in which KTM also wants to get more involved. The Spaniards also operate sharing services with electric scooters in numerous major European cities.
