Quadro has just completed the first half of 2014 with an increase of + 30.4% with 408 registrations. The commercial director of the Quadro importer in France RMF, Philippe Monceyron, gives his impressions to Site readers. Review and interview.

Site: The French motorcycle market is on the rise again in … Is it thanks to good weather, new products, dealers, demo vehicle registrations, poor scores from previous years ?!

: The weather has been good at the start of the year, that’s undeniable, but it won’t last long. The market is still difficult, thanks to our novelty – the which replaced the -, we even sold out on two colors in March. Everything is back to normal now.

MNC: For you, what is the highlight of this first half of the year? ?
P. M.

MNC: Regarding Quadro, what is your assessment of your first six months 2014? ?
P. M.
: With the arrival of the 350S, the brand has finally made its mark on the market thanks to a product that perfectly meets the expectations of our customers. Especially since the start of the year, we’ve been working with the network to densify it and start laying the groundwork for the Quadro4 launch, so that was one for us. Bottom line: the 350S won over new customers with improved market share. Since June 2014 we have the new vintage – QuadroS – presented in a very successful livery. It’s encouraging a few months away from our 4 wheels.

MNC: How is your second semester going? ?
P. M.
: It will be rich for us, the two fairs that are coming up will be important for our dealers, our customers and our partners. Quadro will shift into second gear. The brand and our dealers will finally gain stature with the .

MNC: Finally, lowering speed limits on the roads make you fear a decrease in the attraction of the French for motorcycles and scooters? ?
P. M.
: The sports niche has almost disappeared for the reasons we know! We are not positioned in a sports segment, we focus our products on safety. Of course, you need vehicles that have recovery, torque. However, we would prefer to have the choice with alternative measures. For scooters, you need the right displacement with the right power. We pay attention to the reduction in speed, but even more so to questions of parking, traffic jams, protection, accessibility. We offer safe vehicles for everyday use for urban and peri-urban areas. There is a demand and a wait for more than two-wheeled scooters.
