The Momo design range has three models ready for men: the high-necked Firegun-1 WP with a side zip, the Firegun-2 GTX lace-up boot with a closing buckle and the Firegun-3 WP, which is only equipped with laces. The Firegun-3 WP for women is new and is available in sizes 35 – 42.

Like the men’s version, it costs 159 euros for women and, with its airy upper material, is particularly suitable for warm days. With all the breathability, the climate membrane should ensure that the motorcycle sneaker is waterproof. Another note on breathability: It is only given if functional socks are worn in the shoe. This does not work with cotton socks, because they store the moisture and do not release it for transport to the outside.

The outsole of Groundtrax is made of abrasion-resistant rubber, inside it is equipped with an EVA midsole and an Ortholite insole. EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate. This is a plastic made from ethylene and vinyl acetate to make a rubber-like material that can be used for shoe soles, for example. This means that the Momo Firegun-3 WP should be extremely comfortable for a walk, but a reinforced sole, like some motorcycle sneakers, should be missing.

Firegun-3 WP with quick lacing

After all, the Momo Firegun-3 WP offers reinforcements on the ankles, toes and heel. The motorcycle sneaker is also equipped with a TPU gear lever reinforcement. The shaft is around ten centimeters high and is tightened at the top with a quick-release lace fastener. This means that the shoelaces are not tied into a loop, but rather tightened and fixed at the upper end by a plastic element.

Conclusion

The reinforcements on the ankles, toes and heels make the Momo Firegun-3 WP a motorcycle sneaker. But there are also big differences in this area. If you value safety, look at models with reinforced soles and the gear lever reinforcement could also be more generous. Momo wouldn’t even have needed more material for this – the right shoe doesn’t need the reinforcement, the left one even more.
