Ujet Electric Scooter 2018

E-scooters for the city

The Ujet Electric Scooter was presented at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The small e-scooter is intended to enable environmentally friendly mobility in the big city.

E.There are already many electrically powered scooter concepts for the city, at the CES in Las Vegas another was added with the Ujet Electric Scooter – albeit a very progressive one.

The small electric scooter is designed for one person. Both 14-inch wheels are designed as so-called orbital wheels without hubs and are guided by single-sided swing arms. This technology, in which the hub corresponds to the rim, was developed in the late 80s by designer Franco Sbarro. The brake disks in XXL format encased on the inside, like those that Buell had already installed on some models, are used for delay. The 1.56 meter long e-scooter can also be folded up in the middle for space-saving transport.

Up to 150 kilometers range

The lithium-ion battery pack can also be easily removed and driven to the charging area on beavers.

The Ujet is mainly made of aluminum and carbon. So it should only weigh 43 kilograms. A 5.5 HP and 90 Nm strong electric motor on the rear wheel takes over the drive. The maximum load is given as 120 kilograms. The top speed is limited to 45 km / h. There is a choice of three driving programs.

The Ujet Electric Scooter is planned with two battery sizes, which should enable ranges of around 70 and 150 kilometers. The lithium-ion batteries can be charged in 3 to 6 hours at any conventional socket. With a special fast charger, the charging times should be between 1.5 and three hours. In addition, the energy storage devices can be easily removed from the vehicle and moved on castors to a charging point in the house or garage.

Fully networked from around $ 9,000

Of course, the Ujet can be fully networked with the smartphone (iOS and Android). This allows the scooter to be locked or released, shared with friends, localized or even blocked remotely. Services such as navigation, music streaming, phone calls and an HD cam should not be missing. These functions can be controlled with buttons on the handlebar fittings. A large TFT screen on the handlebar serves as the central instrument. Weatherproof speakers and USB sockets are placed next to it.

Initially, the Ujet will be offered in metropolitan areas in the US states of California and Florida. In the first half of 2018, it will then also be launched in major European cities. The Asian market will follow at the end of 2018. Prices should range between $ 8,900 and $ 9,990, depending on the battery size. Reservations can be made via the manufacturer‘s website (www.ujet.com).
