Marco Chini, WorldSBK Manager at Honda:
“First of all, I would like to thank Michele Magnoni and Davide Giugliano for their professionalism and their availability. The team continues to develop the bike little by little. We were able to verify that Davide Giugliano is back in good shape and his Extensive experience with production machines has been very helpful to us in order to better understand the current level of our Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2. Davide undoubtedly deserves to be considered among the riders who can race alongside Stefan Bradl for the rest of the season".
Eugene Laverty, Aprilia n ° 50:
“The most important thing for me on Tuesday was to learn the layout ahead of the next event. The track is bumpy, but it’s fun with such a mix of slow and fast sections. The bike seems to be working well. Today we "Did a good job in just a few hours and got two notches up. We had a lap time under the lap record, which shows that we are getting a lot closer to the leaders. For this circuit, we have been working on the corner entries to to attack more forward. By improving that, the rest gets better too. I am optimistic, because we are in the same direction that we were going recently: we took a leap forward in Laguna and we have continued on this momentum. I have no doubts that we are heading in the right direction. We will be back next month with the podium in our sights. It will not be easy, but it is now within our grasp. ".
Lorenzo Savadori, Aprilia n ° 32:
“We were able to try the bike in both dry and wet conditions. It was very useful for us. We couldn’t do everything we wanted, but we collected some valuable information. It’s a tricky track, but it’s a good experience for the race. My goal here was to improve my feeling on the bike and to make the front more solid, which was a problem this year. In Laguna, we had improved after free practice and we have done more here. I think we will fight for a good place next month. SMR and Aprilia Racing have worked really hard to improve the bike and we are a little closer to the front after this test ".
Chaz Davies, Ducati n ° 7:
"It was a good test overall. On the first day (Tuesday) we didn’t really stay in our usual setting and we did some sort of experiment. So I was eager to start the second day so to go back to what we know and assess our level in more depth. We still have room for improvement, but I’m delighted with the behavior of the Panigale R in its more traditional settings. We have done an important job. a nice list of things to try and I think we learned something interesting. It was also important to turn in the wet, because I think we improved our set-up for these conditions and I’m happy about that. feel good physically, i just felt a little back pain the first day, like in Laguna Seca, but it was okay. We will take a few days to rest before tackling the next challenge ".
Marco Melandri, Ducati n ° 33:
"It was an important test for us, especially because I was new to this track and so it would have been difficult to be competitive in free practice on Friday without any reference. The track is fun, but it doesn’t It’s not easy to learn because the curves are particular and, above all, the bumps force us to take unusual trajectories. We still pretty much completed our program. We only ran out of time towards the end to polish the details, but it was also important to ride on a wet track. This circuit offers very little grip in these conditions, so we needed a point of comparison. As the rain intensified, we decided not to take risks and put an end to our session. These two days have been demanding, but we have laid a solid foundation to start the next weekend ".
Jonathan Rea, Kawasaki n ° 1:
“After last year it was important to do some testing at the Lausitzring. We were able to do some functional tests for KHI and evaluate some ideas about the frame and the fork. The weather changed after lunch, it forced us to lower the curtain on our tests, but we knew it was going to happen. We were able to assess everything we had planned thanks to Father’s good planning. Yesterday (Tuesday) we were also able to run a simulated race and it was great to see that we have improved the base of the machine compared to last year ".
Tom Sykes, Kawasaki n ° 66:
"We tried a lot of things during this test and the feedback from the bike was good. We had fast lap times and found consistency. On the race tire, I turned 1 ‘36.7 after seven laps. am delighted because i think this time is similar to the one i set during the superpole. We would have liked to try other things on the last day, but the rain came in and stopped us. Overall, these tests have turned out to be positive. I think we are ready to race on this track, at a high level ".
