FSBK - Mathieu Ginès and Vincent Philippe keep the championship lead in Supersport and Superbike -

During the 3rd round of the French Superbike Championship this weekend at Le Vigeant, Vincent Philippe (Suzuki, LMS) in Superbike and Mathieu Ginès (Honda, Tecmas Headstart) in Supersport consolidated their respective positions at the top of the championship.

Thanks to his double victory on the Vigeant circuit (86) this weekend in Supersport, Mathieu Gines of the Tecmas Headstart team (Honda) retains the lead of the 2009 French championship in the Supersport category.

"Expected at the turn after the few happy circumstances which had benefited him during the second round at Nogaro, the Breton pilot did not release the pressure", rejoices Michel Augizeau, team manager of Tecmas Headstart:"riding his Honda CBR 600 R equipped with Dunlop, he clinched both wins and set the fastest time in the race in the second round, which he finished with more than eight seconds over his pursuers".

In the Supersport general classification, Mathieu, who dedicated his two victories "to his mother and his friend Loïc Burdin, both of whom disappeared too quickly", now has 36 points ahead of Olivier Four (Suzuki, team Star Moto) and 56 over Gregory Leblanc (Yamaha, team Duterne Racing).

In Superbike, it was again Vincent Philippe (Suzuki, LMS team) who won despite a crash during his first lap of the second qualifying session and a one-minute penalty for overtaking the safety car following the ‘collision between Thomas Metro (Ducati, team TMVR) and David Muscat (Ducati) in the first race.

Benefiting from the fall on the 13th lap of Tomas Metro who had managed to widen a small gap in the lead, the bisontin rider also won the second race in front of his teammate Guillaume Dietrich (Suzuki, team LMS) and Sebastien Gimbert (Yamaha, team GMT).

With his four consecutive victories, Vincent Philippe retains his first place in the championship with 102 points and takes a little lead over Sebastien Gimbert (66) and Guillaume Dietrich (62).

Next meeting on June 20 and 21 in Ledenon (30). Stay connected !
