Motorcycle News 2013: Yamaha XV1900A Midnight Star CFD

Among the rare 2013 Yamaha novelties presented at the EICMA motorbike show in Milan are the XV1900A Midnight Star CFD (Casual Full Dress), a streamlined and suitcase-equipped version that has until now only been marketed in the United States under the name by Statoliner Deluxe.

Technically, this elegant big cruiser does not know any evolution compared to the custom Midnight Star from which it is extrapolated, with the exception of its multi-disc clutch in oil bath which now adopts an anti-dribble device. This new limited-slip clutch would reduce lever effort "by 20%", says Yamaha.

Above all, it will prevent the wheel from blocking during a slightly dry downshift on slippery roads. A scenario that can easily happen, knowing that the enormous 1854 cc air-cooled twin develops 155.1 Nm of torque from 2500 rpm.

Price and availability for this XV1900A Midnight Star CFD have not been released. The Midnight Star 1900 "standard" currently worth 16,499 €, this version cut for the road should probably be around 18,500 €.
