Aesthetically, the Japanese hypersport could experience a major upheaval since the surprised model was equipped with a side exhaust outlet, and not under the saddle like the. Nevertheless, this technical change remains to be confirmed because this hypothetical novelty was camouflaged under an R6 fairing during these "secret" tests..
More sophisticated and more incisive ?
Slightly revised in 2012 and equipped with traction control, benefits from a lively and efficient engine (182.1 hp and 115.5 Nm of torque), but suffers from a lack of liveliness mainly due to a certain overweight ( 206 kg all full).
If Yamaha does indeed decide to "redesign" its flagship model in depth, it is likely that it will undergo a slimming cure and that it adopts the latest electronic refinements (shifter, disconnectable ABS, etc.) in vogue on the most sophisticated Superbike. Hoping that this does not generate too much inflation of its price, which is already quite high (€ 15,999) !
Note that if the arrival of this future R1 still needs to be confirmed, Yamaha could take advantage of the return of Valentino Rossi to ensure the promotion … Stay tuned !
