Yamaha immobilizes its new R1M for a shock absorber problem
Yamaha has decided to proceed "as a precaution to check and replace if necessary the rear shock absorber of the YZF-R1M model 2015" (read our MNC test of March 5, 2015: with or without M, we like!) Yamaha has decided to proceed "as a precaution to check and replace if necessary the rear shock absorber of the YZF-R1M model 2015" (read our) and asks the bikers concerned to "no longer use their motorcycle until the ‘rear shock absorber has been checked for conformity or has been replaced by a new shock absorber ".
Are concerned the models YZF-R1M 2015 (2KS2) whose serial numbers are between RN327 00000301 and RN327 0000426, "a total of 44 motorcycles in France", specifies Yamaha (which had exhausted its stock even before their marketing). stressing that there may be "a risk that the nut of the piston rod of the rear shock absorber will loosen because of an incorrect assembly at the supplier" (Ohlins, Editor’s note).
The owners of these motorcycles have been notified by mail and must make an appointment as soon as possible with their Yamaha dealer in order to have this intervention carried out free of charge..
