Electric motorcycles: Husqvarna E-go and BMW Concept e
At the origin of several explosive concepts (read in particular our Presentation of the Concept Mille 3), Husqvarna surprises again by presenting its first study dedicated to electric mobility, the E-go.
At the origin of several explosive concepts (read in particular our), Husqvarna surprises again by presenting its first study devoted to electric mobility, the E-go.
Cut to the billhook and frankly minimalist, this concept reserved for "urban electro-riders" draws its inspiration from the aesthetic codes dear to the Supermotard genre: cross handlebars, long flat saddle (and "self-supporting" says Husqvarna) and wide suspension travel.
The suspensions are clearly different from the current production at the front, since the two fork legs 35 mm in diameter are grouped together on the right side. !
The "classic" rear mono-shock absorber with separate cylinder comes from Sachs, the frame is made of steel tubes and the transmission is by chain, while the braking is entrusted to discs with petals pinched by Brembo calipers.
This concept would weigh only 80 kg, but it is unfortunately the only figure that Husqvarna agrees to communicate: although the Swedish-born constrictor assures that the E-go "foreshadows one of the avenues explored by the brand", no technical data (range, time and method of recharging, etc.) is not advanced for this project which will probably be presented at the Motorcycle Show in Milan.
From the Husqvarna E-go to the BMW Concept e scooter
However, Husqvarna does not hide that the experience of the BMW group – owner of the brand since 2007 – in the field of electric mobility has largely contributed to the development of this E-go concept. The German manufacturer has also just unveiled a new electric concept: a "zero emission" scooter prototype called Concept e !
Very different aesthetically from the E-Scooter, this new "Concept e" is more like a study of style intended to give an overview of the paths that BMW Motorrad engineers could take..
The propeller brand nevertheless took the opportunity to display all its know-how in the field of so-called "soft" mobility: thanks to its high-voltage BMW i technology (developed in cars), the engine of this Concept e would compete with a thermal maxi-scooter when accelerating, while the range would reach 100 km in "daily traffic", assures BMW, which has installed a system for recovering energy released during braking.
Rechargeable directly from a power outlet in less than three hours, the Concept e electric scooter will be on view from September 15 to 25 at the Frankfurt Motor Show (Germany), alongside the BMW i3 Concept and i8 Concept electric cars..
