72nd Rallye de l’Ain: Objectif Moon !
By winning this 72nd Rallye de l’Ain, Maxime Olivieri takes the lead in the championship but the battle was tough between Maximus and Pierre Mouneu, Team Site driver, who almost won this event trusted by the Monos… Story !
Ranking and podiums
Maxime Olivieri therefore won the Rallye de l’Ain 2009 with one second ahead of Pierre Mouneu. He thus takes the lead of the provisional championship, 3 points ahead of Manoel Delaval (236 for Maximus, 233 for Mano). The third place goes to Michael Pefaure on Yamaha 450 WR (represented here by Zezette, Michael having had to take the road home as soon as possible because he also has a job …). A podium entirely Mono therefore, and all mounted on Goldspeed tires … If it’s not a demonstration, that !
In Topsport, Mano occupies the highest step: his excellent times in specials have indeed enabled him, despite his big penalty, to climb back to seventh place in the scratch! He precedes Pierre Lemos on his brand new Aprilia 550 SXV (which seems to please him!) And Daniel Blanchon on Yamaha FZ6.
The Sport category is dominated by John Comoglio on Suzuki 650 SV, ahead of Charles Guillot riding a Kawasaki 650 ER6 and Patrick Cosnuau, also on Kawasaki 650 ER6 !
As for the sidecars, impressive victory for the Guillet / Chanal crew at the controls of their Choda 1000 GSXR, which at the same time took fourth place in the scratch classification … just ahead of your Marcus Himself, fifth !
In Classics, it is still Renaud Fanon on his Honda 600 XLM who leads the debates: winner of the category on this Rallye de l’Ain, he places himself in twentieth position of the scratch while Dominique Wils places his Honda 600 XLR second in category (35th scratch) and that Gerard Spagli finds himself third on the handlebars of his Kawasaki Z1000.
More than a test now to know who will go to the titles … Moon is highly motivated! So we’ll meet again for the Rallye des Volcans on August 29 and 30, but also at the end of the month for the Ultimate Rally … So stay tuned !
