With a slight increase of +1.9% (or 5 additional deaths attributable to a road accident compared to May 2014), the provisional results of Road Safety for the month of May are negative. The only consolation: bodily accidents are down -4.7%, as is the number of people injured (-6.2%) and hospitalized following an accident (-4.5%).

Up for the first time in eleven years, the 2015 balance sheet also seems to be on the wrong foot with an increase of + 2.3% since January, or 29 more road deaths than in 2014.

What about bikers in all of this? Their accident curve is stable in May but has generally declined since January, just like. But that, strangely, neither Road Safety nor the Ministry of the Interior on which it depends puts it forward, while they are however so quick to associate "bikers and drivers" when the figures are unfavorable…
