Vespa celebrates its 70th anniversary
A legend celebrates a birthday
Scooter back and forth – the Vespa is and remains one of the most popular two-wheelers of all time and is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. To celebrate the day, we have prepared a selection of the Vespa models that have been produced since 1946.
Already something of that Vheard espa MP6? Or the Vespa 180 SS? No? Not bad. The same thing happened to the author of this article to this day. A press release from Piaggio on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Vespa provided a remedy. Since the presentation of the first mass-produced Vespa 98, based on the MP6 prototype, the Italian company Piaggio has sold over 18 million Vespa models, according to its own statements.
To celebrate the day, Piaggio has also presented three new special models in the “Settantesimo” anniversary look. The Vespa GTS, Vespa Primavera and Vespa PX models are now available as anniversary versions in the colors Azzuro 70 and Grigio 70. Piaggio has given each of the special editions a dark brown bench seat and a classically chrome-plated folding luggage rack with a luggage bag. In addition, an emblem with the inscription "Vespa 70" adorns the storage space lid of the special models.
