News - Motorcycle news: no pot for the Yamaha FJR1300 (?) 2013 - Used YAMAHA

Good "pickaxe" for the Oliepeil site: while leafing through the 2013 catalog of the exhaust manufacturer Akrapovic, our Dutch colleagues came across two photos of silencers mounted on … the next Yamaha FJR 1300 (read in particular our MNC test of the December 4, 2006) !

Good "pickaxe" for the site: while leafing through the 2013 catalog of the exhaust manufacturer Akrapovic, our Dutch colleagues stumbled across two photos of silencers mounted on … the next Yamaha FJR 1300 (read in particular our) !

Immediately withdrawn from the catalog, these visuals were undoubtedly unintentionally released by Akrapovic who, like most props, receives the new motorcycles some time before their launch in order to be able to develop their equipment and accessories..

Still, these "stolen" photos reveal part of the aesthetic and technical transformations granted to the aging flagship of the Yamaha road range. The new FJR1300 (or even a little more cubic centimeters to improve torque?) Benefits from a redesigned fairing, but with lines nonetheless quite close to the current model – at least on the right side and at the rear hull.

The cockpit seems modified, just like the bubble which seems higher and wider. The cardan transmission, very appreciable and appreciated, is retained.

In terms of the cycle part and the engine, it is difficult to decide on any changes based on these visuals alone. However, at first glance, the shapes of the aluminum perimeter-type frame and inline 4-cylinder crankcases again seem quite similar to those of the current model (see photo of the 2012 FJR1300 below).

But even if these technical bases are preserved, nothing would prevent this new FJR from offering improved performance with, for example, an engine boosted to 1400 or 1500 cc instead of the current 1298 cc. Likewise, it could further improve its performance by adopting additional equipment such as traction control, a regulator or electronically controlled suspensions. In short, the best may be inside !

The Cologne Motorcycle Show, to be followed on MNC from October 3-7, will probably tell us a little more about Yamaha’s new road bike: stay tuned !
