All manufacturers are preparing to raise the curtain on their 2017 novelties next week at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan (Italy). All except Benelli, who will (re) present his trail TRK502 and his Leoncino scrambler already unveiled at the end of 2015 !

At the time, the manufacturer announced to MNC a marketing in "summer 2016" of the TRK502 and at the "end of 2016" for the Leoncino, the price of which had been estimated to us "under 6000 euros" for the Italian market. But the wait was finally longer than expected, giving rise to fears of a fate identical to the very beautiful: presented in 2006, this motorcycle remained six years in a row at the stage of "salon prototype"! Last I heard, Benelli is reportedly considering producing it but …

A few days before the EICMA, Benelli assures us that this is not the case and on the contrary claims to have taken advantage of this time to add ABS and a pollution control system in accordance with Euro4 on his TRK502 and Leoncino. These motorcycles are now in the final phase, ready to be marketed after being exhibited again on the Milan catwalks next week..

The situation may give rise to a smile since in the end, Benelli is about to represent two bikes already seen in 2015 in the same place, exactly one year later! The trail TRK502 thus always exhibits its large 50 mm fork, its 20-liter tank and its lines inspired by the Multistrada. The steel trellis frame is renewed, as is the elegant double tubular swingarm.

The Scrambler Leoncino fares much better in terms of power-to-weight ratio with its 170 kg dry. But above all, its more original look and well in the retro trend could meet more success.
