New BMW G 310 GS: first information and video
BMW unveils as planned at the Milan Motor Show (Eicma) a GS version of its entry-level G 310 R. The new small trail G 310 GS takes over the cycle part and the 313 cc single-cylinder from the roadtser, but naturally adopts greater deflections and a higher saddle. First information and technical characteristics.
Surprise in Italy after the Cologne show (read), the new BMW G 310 GS is officially unveiled this morning at the EICMA in Milan. This newcomer to the BMW trail family incorporates many characteristics of the roadster from which it is derived: steel trellis frame, inverted 41 mm fork, 4-piston front caliper, 313 cc single cylinder developing the same maximum power values (34 hp at 9,500 rpm) and torque (28 Nm at 7,500 rpm).
Trail requires, it inherits on the other hand a 19-inch front wheel – like its big sisters and to whom it is visually related – while the suspension travel goes to 180 mm (!) At the front as well as at the rear instead of 140 at the front and 131 at the rear on the roadster. The saddle, longer and wider, is placed higher (835 mm instead of 785) but retains a low (820 mm) or comfort (850 mm) option.
It remains to know its price and its availability date. Knowing that the G 310 R is displayed today at € 4,950 in the, this new G 310 GS should logically be placed under the bar of € 6,000. To follow naturally on MNC: stay connected !
