The Italian helmet manufacturer Origine seems to have recognized the current retro trend and is now offering a new enduro helmet that wants to draw attention to itself with its chic heritage design. In principle, the Origine Virgo comes in six different colors “Danny Matt White”, “Danny Gloss Orange”, “Danny Gloss Light Blue”, “Danny Gloss Yellow”, “Danny Gloss Gray” and “Danny Matt Black” offered. All six versions have one thing in common: the code number 42 can be seen on the side of the helmet. There is also a checkered flag motif on the back. In front, next to the black shield on the top, two different colored stripes catch the eye.

Available in XS to XXL, from 244 euros

Buyers can choose between sizes XS to XXL. The Origine Virgo should weigh around 1,027 grams. The outer shell of the ECE 22-05 compliant helmet, available in two sizes, is made of fiberglass. The inner lining is conveniently removable and can therefore be cleaned without much effort. For the locking system, the Italian manufacturer decided on the double D-ring lock.

Origine would like to have 244 euros for the Virgo, which puts the helmet in the solid mid-range price segment. Other manufacturers, for example Shoei with the Ex-Zero or Bell with the Moto-3, offer optically similar retro motorcycle helmets, but sometimes they cost more.

Conclusion

The Origine Virgo could be a serious alternative for all retro fans. The look is chic, but not too cluttered. A practical test that we have planned for the near future will have to determine how good the retro helmet actually is.
