Common front of two-wheelers against the speed of 80 km / h

Radars - Common front of two-wheelers against speed at 80 km-h -

The main actors of motorized two-wheelers (FFMC, FFM, Codever and CNPA) announce in a joint press release their mobilization against the drop in speed to 80 km / h and propose to the government three major priority axes "which would really allow saving lives ".

The "main players in motorized two-wheelers" met on Friday at the invitation of France Wolf, national coordinator of the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC), and Jacques Bolle, President of the French Motorcycling Federation (FFM ), to announce their mobilization against the 80 km / h limitation, but …

Were present Edith Quince, president of the Collective for the defense of green leisure (Codever), Nadine Annelot, president of the National Council of the professions of the automobile sector two-wheelers (CNPA) and Alain Martin, national secretary of the CNPA Road education, who have planned to meet again "soon to work together".

"The state has gone on the offensive"

"With as an alibi an objective which may seem legitimate (less than 2,000 car and motorcycle deaths by 2020 on French roads), the State has gone on the offensive by enacting new constructive measures for some, such as the fight reinforced against driving under the influence of alcohol and using the telephone while driving, but also repressive rather than preventive for others ", state the main organizations linked to motorized two-wheelers.

Note the absence of the International Automobile and Motorcycle Union (CSIAM), but fortunately the readers of MNC – who, as everyone knows, are a little better informed than the others – already know about the limitation to 80 km / h !

  • Speed limit 80 km / h :

"The last of these consists in lowering the speed limit on the secondary network by 10 km / h from July 1, 2018, although the experiments carried out in this area have not been very conclusive", the associations still regret, stressing that "unfortunately, communication has won out over efficiency".

However, "several efficient levers could play a concrete part in reducing the accident rate of users of motorized two-wheelers", whose "claims rate has rather fallen in recent years", note the FFM, the FFMC, the Codever and the CNPA which "have decided to mobilize and remind the government of three major priority areas that would really save lives: training / education, incentives to equip the user of motorized two-wheelers and road infrastructure".

This common front recalls the one – with the exception of the CNPA – which then intended to fight for the survival of the motorcycle.
