Honda has started a recall for the 2017 model year Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade. A defective seal can cause gasoline to leak.

The new Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade of model year 2017 has to go to the workshop! The reason for this is that the filler neck seal swells, creating a gap through which gasoline is lost. There is also the risk of water entering the Fireblade’s tank.

In Germany, a total of 1,141 copies are said to be affected. Worldwide, 8,306 Fireblades are to be returned to the workshop. Models with the following chassis numbers are affected:

  • JH2SC7709HK000004 through JH2SC77U8HK000496
  • SC77-1000008 – SC77-1000596

Honda will write to owners of affected specimens. The Fireblade receives a new filler neck in the workshop. According to the manufacturer, the repair should take about five hours.

New Fireblade was presented at EICMA in 2016

Honda fans had to wait a long time for a new Fireblade. At the EICMA 2016 in Milan, the traditional Japanese manufacturer redeemed the fan base and presented a new Fireblade with the model name SC77. Compared to its predecessor, the super sports car received a lot of updates.
