"A recall action has been put in place following the identification of a low risk of early damage to the engine in the long term", reveals the communications manager of BMW Motorrad France. "This is linked to a machining problem which only concerns very few models in France", specifies Mathieu Maire interviewed by the Journal moto du Net. 

This manufacturing concern would specifically affect the gearbox, whose six-speed changeover is also facilitated by the standard installation of a bidirectional shifter (up and down without disengaging). Asked by MNC, the French subsidiary wants to be reassuring.

"No motorcycle having yet been delivered in France, the few units concerned will only be subject to an additional delivery time", explains our interlocutor, stressing that all the dealers "have already taken the action. required ".

In short: the few motorcycles already received by the French network and which would be affected by this recall will be subject to the appropriate corrective action before being delivered to their owners. They will simply have to wait a little longer before they can wring out the "ride-by-wire" of this 199 kg Superbike. !

"In addition, the problem has already been resolved at the level of the machining centers and this action will therefore have no impact on the rest of the production", assures us BMW France which seems serene as to the consequences of this recall on the success of its novelty at 17,200 euros.
