Yamaha France recalls 44,824 motorcycles and scooters because of a reflector
Recall campaigns are common among all manufacturers, but rare are those that affect as many motorcycles and scooters as the one launched by Yamaha: nearly 45,000 machines with three tuning forks are asked to go to the workshop, from the 125 cc scooter to the Tracer 700, due to a reflector in poor reflection ! Explanations.
We do not play around with safety among Japanese manufacturers, nor with strict compliance with standards: Yamaha confirms this tradition by launching a vast recall campaign which affects no less than "44,824" motorcycles and scooters in France, proportions rarely achieved in the French MNC memory market !

The cause ? A "beast" concern with the rear reflector, this reflecting device installed on motorcycles and scooters to improve their visibility to other users. The equipment installed by Yamaha would present a defect linked to an accumulation of gas in the mold which could "alter the characteristics of the lens of the reflector".
As a result, the device would no longer effectively fulfill its role and would no longer "comply with the UN-ECE standard relating to reflective power", develops the French subsidiary, which will replace the offending reflector on all scooters and motorcycles listed below..
This includes the X-Max 125 and Nmax 125, as well as the Tracer and XSR 700, the MT-03 and the YZF-R3. The Ocito 125 and Evolis 300 from MBK – owned by Yamaha – are also affected.
"Customers who own these machines have been notified by registered mail and must make an appointment as soon as possible with them in order to have this intervention carried out free of charge," warns the French subsidiary..
