After an eventful opening of the 2012 French rally championship, the competitors will do battle this weekend in Corsica for the second round. The islanders are fully prepared and intend to impose themselves at home… Atmosphere !

For the sixth year in a row since the rebirth of the Corsican rally, the Isle of Beauty will be the playground this weekend for the rallymen of the French championship: most of the continental drivers are taking a week’s holiday in the sun in family, while islanders await this event to top the bill…

The young and talented Paul-Christian Piazza (KTM 450 EXC), island rider winner of the Mono 8th Scratch category at the rally de la Sarthe (read), is promoted to the rank of favorite among the other thin blades of the island such as Bruno Langlois (Ducati 1100 Streetfighter) or Michel Marchini (Honda 450 HM).

But the contenders for the title of champion of France 2012 did not come to make up the figures: Julien Toniutti will do his best to keep the leadership of the championship, Nicolas Derrien shortens his convalescence following his fall on his mançois lands (see video) and the Category leaders are also there to take points, like the Laur / Ferrieu team on its Choda 1300 GSXR Suzuki sidecar, side-car title holders and already impressive in recce, which will have to stand up to the "Marluches", the ‘Bruno Marlin’s crew back on the rally scene riding their brand new Choda 1130 TNT Benelli sidecar…

Meet at Porticcio on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. for the start of this second round of the 2012 French Rally Championship with a Porticcio / Porticcio loop of around one hundred kilometers to be covered three times during the day and twice at night, with two specials per loop: a brand new 4.7 km in Bocognano and an already known 3.2 km at the Pont de la Pierre (read and).
