Rallye du Dourdou 2012: half rain, half Corsica !
Corsican driver Carlo Scanu (Honda 450 CRF) won the ninth rally in Dourdou ahead of Florent Derrien and Flavien Coitoux, both on KTM 690 SMC. An unusual podium for an extraordinary rally: but where are the leaders ? Report.
General classification of the rally
At night + day, general classification of the event, Carlo Scanu wins the race (not having taken any penalties and obtaining special times regularly in the 5). Florent Derrien (KTM 690 SMC) is second and Flavien Coitoux (KTM 690 SMC) third.
In the Topsport category, there are three KTM 990 Superduke: Jerôme Argoud first, Julien Toniutti second and Nicolas Pautet third, i.e. two Team Site drivers in the first three !
In the Mono category, we take the three KTM 690 SMC scratch: Carlo Scanu, Florent Derrien and Flavien Coitoux.
In the Sport category, Thierry Canazzi on KTM 400 EXC is ahead of Morgan Govignon on Kawasaki 650 ER6 and Patrice Leroi on Honda 500 CB.
On the side-cars side, Laur / Sonhilac on Choda 1300 Suzuki wins ahead of Marlin father and son on Choda 1130 Benelli and Lescane / Tous on Voxan 996 Cafe Racer.
In the Classics, Dominique Wils on Honda 600 XLR is ahead of Nick Ayrton on Suzuki 1100 GSXR and Nicolas Garcia on Yamaha 350 RDLC.
Finally in 125, it was Didier Chambost who won the palm on the handlebars of a Yamaha 125 WRX.
This 9th Rallye du Dourdou was therefore a "real" rally, where the stages alone are not enough to win. An old-fashioned rally, in a way! Who said "the rally is more what it was" ?
The next and last event of the 2012 French Rally Championship will be held in Laverune (34) on September 15 and 16, to follow on MNC: stay tuned !
