New Suzuki GSX-S750: first information
A year after the launch of its GSX-S1000, Suzuki updates its 750 roadster and renames it: the GSX-S750 is prettier and more efficient than the GSR750 … and much more desirable than its many competitors, of course. ! Presentation.
Motorcycle news: Suzuki goes upmarket with the GSX-S750
Hyper efficient and well placed in terms of price, the car suffered from a passable finish to compete with the sales volumes achieved by its compatriots Z, MT or ER. Aware of its main weak point, Suzuki reacted by taking inspiration from its to update its midsize roadster…
Compared to its predecessor, the Suzuki GSX-S750 is first of all more "sexy" thanks to a slight facelift and softer lines, side covers – absent on the "GSR which seemed unfinished", recognizes Suz – and a belly pan, redesigned swingarm, new original Bridgestone S21 ten-spoke rims and gums, petal brake discs, radial Nissin calipers – so biting? -, etc.
Sexier … and more Gexy !
At the same time, the new Suzuki also wants to be more "Gexy" since the power and the torque of its 4-cylinder engine increase by 8 hp and 1 Nm respectively, for a full weight unchanged of 213 kg (with compulsory ABS). To promote – again – acceleration and pick-up, the final transmission ratio is shortened, but 6th gear maintains the same top speed (Vmax not communicated: it’s up to you to test on the circuit!).
The engine receives some subtle additional retouching: perforated lower engine to limit pumping losses, airbox revised for increased sound, muffler stripped of its valve but equipped with transfers. The GSX-S750 is equipped as standard with a traction control adjustable on three levels and deactivatable. Something to reassure on the road … and the "fool" on the circuit ?!
On a daily basis, future owners will also appreciate the "Easy start" systems – a short pressure on the starter is sufficient – and "Low RPM assist" – slight increase in speed when the clutch is released. Note to conclude that the GSX-S750 offers the counter of the GSX-S1000, fully digital, and its controls on the handlebars.
