For the second most beautiful thing in the world, all you need is a bike, a racetrack and a suitable racing series: the nine best cups and classes for racing beginners. good luck for!

Ever since evolution brought about man, he has been striving for happiness and fulfillment. What fills entire libraries and drove hosts of philosophers crazy can be so wonderfully simple: Take a suitable piece of sports equipment, make it into a fine arena and move it quickly. In awe we kneel down in front of the inventor of the potter’s wheel, which served as the basis for the wheel and thus carefree movement. 6500 years later, this invention is found twice in one vehicle – fortunately one behind the other!

Thanks to the grace of late birth, solid chassis encircle these wheels. In addition, they are equipped with excellent rubber products that act as road contact. In addition, powerful power plants drive the loads. But what can be done with such driving devices? Moving them appropriately in public areas attracts the displeasure of the regulatory authorities. Fortunately, modern times offer Homo Gasicus numerous opportunities to indulge their passion on closed-off terrain with like-minded people and to compete. This also and especially applies to novices.
Organized shooting as a group event
In principle, branded cups are best suited for beginners or those returning to the sport. Equal opportunities are used for driving on identical machines. In addition, there is usually a lot of solidarity in the community, the atmosphere is familiar and they are happy to help with technical or other problems. Most of the organizers offer technical support for this. In many cups there are also two races per event, which compensates for the effort of a racing weekend. Of course, costs are also an issue. In the case of cups, they are kept within limits, as the regulations almost never allow extensive and therefore expensive tuning. To be fair, it should be mentioned that other series also present inexpensive racing. Organizers such as Bike Promotion, Art Motor, Pro Speed and many more offer classes that enable non-high-end racers and older machines to start.
They offer a wide range of services and include machines from just under 40 hp (ADAC Junior Cup) to hammers with around 180 hp (Super Duke Battle). Everyone will find the right playground for their favorite activity here. Before the ambitious newcomer plunges into racing, we urgently recommend attending some racing training courses. There you gain your first experience, get used to the hustle and bustle and gradually approach your personal limit without the stress of racing. Over time, this shifts further and further backwards – a real motivational tsunami!
In the following, we present the branded cups that are particularly suitable for beginners and those returning to the sport. The conditions are from the previous season. If you want to venture into hobby racing, simply contact the organizer of your choice. Then nothing stands in the way of starting your happiness!

Brief description: Since 2007, the pilots have been racing with the mighty two-cylinder engines. Initially launched by the KTM factory, the series has been running under private initiative for several years. The team spirit at the Super Duke Battle is legendary, and they even have breakfast together. Despite tough duels, there is always sporty fairness on the track. The regulations do not allow any engine tuning (exception: programming the electronic engine control). The chassis, however, may be modified to a limited extent. Because of the fierce power of the youngest Super Duke R in particular, the battle is particularly suitable for appropriately experienced pilots.

Brief description: In 2014 the cup entered its 18th season, making it one of the oldest branded cups in Germany. The 53 hp MZ Skorpion single-cylinder engines, which were built from 1994 to 2003, will be driven. The operational machines largely correspond to the series, tuning is not permitted. This makes the Cup particularly interesting for newcomers and those returning to the sport, especially since the costs are kept within reasonable limits – there is no cheaper way to do racing. In the still popular series, an average of around 30 pilots fight for fame, honor and points. In addition to Germany, the Cup is also being launched abroad – in 2014 in Most / CZ and Assen / NL.

Brief description: Already from 1993 to 1995 pilots heated up in the GSX-R 750, at that time still in the “Suzuki Speer Cup”. After many years with long interruptions, there has been a series with the powerful super sports car again since 2013. Full starting fields testify to the success of the resurrected Cup. Despite all the seriousness of the sport, the organizer primarily focuses on fun and togetherness on and off the racetrack. Engine tuning is not permitted, but a proper appearance of man and machine is important.

Brief description: The Z Cup starts for the first time in 2015, so there is still no experience. The series is intended to offer a platform for sporty, ambitious Kawa fans, and brand loyalty is of course also an issue. It remains to be seen whether and how the privately organized cup will establish itself. In any case, in terms of price, it is somewhat higher than that of comparable series.

Brief description: As the only racing series presented here, Minitwin Racing is not a brands cup. In other words, machines from different manufacturers are used for driving. The regulations are also very open, and even more tuning is permitted. A tuning-free stick class is being considered for 2015, what
makes things much cheaper again. 80 to 90 percent of the pilots start on Suzuki SV 650, as a separate cup was organized for these Suzis a few years ago. The starting field of the series, which was launched in 2012, is well filled, and the interaction is very friendly. Having fun comes before athletic ambition.
