Everyone feels right at home on the Honda. The handlebars, which can be adjusted by ten millimeters, as well as the height-adjustable bench seat and windshield contribute to this. The flawless engine, which runs smoothly from 2000 rpm, and the deceleration values, at least with ABS on any surface, round off the good overall picture. According to MOTORRAD’s experience, the most recommendable tire pairings include the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 and the Continental Road Attack, both of which would be able to withstand far more lean angles than the side and main stand that touches down early on. Other improvement measures include the MRA Vario touring screen for 120 euros, which significantly increases protection against the wind compared to the standard screen. For even more driving fun, even on rough terrain, tighter fork springs, for example from Wirth (with oil around 100 euros) and an adjustable accessory shock absorber.

The fairing of the 2006 model, which is prone to cracks, is one of the very few typical defects. Most CBF should meanwhile be equipped with a Honda anti-vibration kit consisting of a few self-adhesive foam rubber strips. Rust attack on the suspension strut mounts on the swing arm and partly on the frame, axles and the lower triple clamps, which is at risk from falling rocks, is also not really dramatic. It is always worth taking a close look, even if not all models are affected.

Market situation

Over 8,000 models sold in just under two years speak for the success of CBF. The large inventory is already reflected in the used market. Hundreds of offers cavort on the Internet sales portals. Models with a mileage of well over 20,000 kilometers or with damage from a fall can be found for less than 6000 euros. Since the individual years of construction do not differ from each other and the CBF has impressively proven its reliability in the MOTORRAD long-distance test, almost all used offers are ?? especially those with ABS ?? recommendable.
