Crossover bike for India
Yamaha launches a new single-cylinder four-stroke crossover bike in India. The FZ-X is derived from the FZ models.

As early as January, the patent protection for the type designation FZ-X announced what Yamaha has now presented in India – a crossover entry-level bike based on the well-known FZ models.

Well-known abbreviation completely reinterpreted
When it comes to the combination FZX – the older ones among us immediately think of the FZX 750, which, as the little sister of the Vmax in the late 80s and early 90s, supplemented the local range of the Japanese. This was fired by the five-valve inline four-cylinder from the FZ 750.
Yamaha
Yamaha FZX 750.
Simple single cylinder with 12.4 hp
The Yamaha FZ-X 150 – this time with a hyphen – is far from a power bike. Its 149 cm³ single-cylinder two-valve engine is air-cooled and swells up to a maximum of 12.4 hp at 7,250 tours and 13.3 Nm torque at 5,500 revolutions. It is shifted by a five-speed transmission. The FZ-X uses a tubular steel frame with a 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and a central spring strut that can be pre-tensioned at the rear. The lines are reminiscent of the XSR models in this country. Yamaha clamps a 100/80 tire on the 17 inch cast rims at the front and a 140/60 tire with a coarse profile at the rear. The braking system combines a 282 disc at the front with a 220 disc at the rear and ABS. When it comes to lighting, the Japanese rely on LED technology all round. An LC display in the cockpit provides information that also makes contact with the smartphone via Bluetooth. Mobile devices also have a USB charging socket in the steering head area.
Prices and colors
The new Yamaha FZ-X 150 is offered in India in the three colors Matte Copper, Metallic Blue and Matte Black. The prices start at around 1,320 euros.
Conclusion
Crossover bikes are also becoming increasingly popular in Asian markets. With the FZ-X, Yamaha is now bringing an affordable entry-level bike in the look of the XSR models known in this country.
