In 2020 Alex Marquez started in the Honda factory team, and in 2021 he will compete for the Honda LCR team. But technically nothing has changed for the Spaniard in the satellite team either. Here, too, he is provided with a factory specification RC213V.

Alex Marquez fans, however, have to prepare for a completely new look. He is taking over the main sponsors Givi and Castrol from predecessor Cal Crutchlow, who has switched to Yamaha as a test driver. Instead of Repsol orange, the colors green and red will be in the foreground in 2021. Marquez also takes over the former Crutchlow crew around crew chief Christophe Bourguignon.

Marquez was passed on to the LCR team even before the start of the 2020 season for 2021, as Honda had signed Pol Espargaro for 2021. Rookie Marquez finished the 2020 season in 14th place, but took two podiums. The goals for 2021 are clear: To consistently get points and also one or the other podium.

Marquez’s teammate is Takaaki Nakagami. The Japanese will tackle his fourth MotoGP season in 2021. Due to his consistently good performance in the previous season, the 29-year-old will be sitting on a factory specification RC213V for the coming season. So far he had to be satisfied with a model from the previous year. In the 2020 season statement, Nakagami was the best Honda driver with his 10th place. The clear goal for the coming season is the first podium.

Nakagami will appear in unchanged sponsor colors in 2021. The Japanese oil and energy company Idemitsu remains the main sponsor of the red and white motorcycle.
