Tour tip

The Spessart, the largest mixed deciduous forest area in Germany, attracts not only legendary inns, but also plenty of angular works around them that are suitable for motorbikes. Suitable for spring and summer, autumn is particularly colorful.

Tour north

  1. Hessenthal: We start this round at the church. It goes again to Weibersbrunn, behind it in the direction of Rothenbuch, on via Waldaschaff to Unterbessenbach. Then right towards Weiberhof after Sailauf. Here right towards Jakobsthal, before that stop at the motorcycle meeting point “English people”. Turn left to Schollkrippen.

  2. Schollkrippen: From here in the direction of Kleinkahl. We follow the St 2305 and take a lap towards Jakobsthal. Behind it left along the Lohrbach towards Heinrichsthal, Habichsthal and to Wiesthal.
  3. Wiesthal: Behind the village left to Krommenthal and on to Partenstein. Shortly on the B 267 to Frammersbach. Here left to Wiesen, then follow the signs to the B 267. These cross and on small streets over Alsberg towards Steinau an der Strabe.
  4. Steinau a. d. S .: Leave the place southeast towards Marjoss, before Marjoss turn left to Jossa. In Jossa left towards Altengronau. Before that, left to Neuengronau via Breunings, Sterbfritz and on to Oberzell and Zuntersbach. Past the Schwarzenfels ruins via Mottgers, Altengronau back to Jossa. Jossa: In the village towards Marjoss, from there to Mernes and Burgjoss. Along the Jossa to Oberndorf and via Pfaffenhausen to Lohrhaupten. After the village turn onto the B 267 towards Frammersbach.

  5. Frammersbach: Continue on the B 267 to Partenstein. Here right to Krommenthal. After the town turn left towards Heigenbrucken and stop at the Moppedscheune (Dorfstrabe 7). After Heigenbrucken, turn left onto the St 2317 to the B 26. Left to Rechtenbach, after about four kilometers turn right to Rothenbuch. From there back to Hessenthal.

Tour south

Route: approx. 300 km / Journey time: with normal driving approx. 6 to 8 hours

  1. Mespelbrunn: From the inn “To the Spessart” it goes to Oberbessenbach, Strabbessenbach, Dorrmorsbach, via Soden to Ebersbach. Then via Leidersbach and Volkersbrunn to Heimbuchenthal.
  2. Heimbuchenthal: Leave the place in a southerly direction and via Hobbach, Eschau, Monchberg and Schmachtenberg to the banks of the Main near Klingenberg. Follow the river via Grobheubach, Miltenberg, Burgstadt, Freudenberg, Collenberg to Stadtprozelten.

  3. Stadtprozelten: Continue towards Hasloch. Recommendation: Visit the Hammer Museum here in the Eisenhammer (www.hammer-museum.de). From Kreuzwertheim one lap via Hofgarten, Urphar, Bettingen, Winzerdorf Homburg, Triefenstein and Rettersheim back to Kreuzwertheim and back to Hasloch.

  4. Hasloch: Continue via Schollbrunn to Rohrbrunn and Dammbach. Here a detour to the Geibhohe near Oberwintersbach for a snack at the inn (www.geisshoehe.de). Return via Heimbuchenthal, Mespelbrunn (castle worth seeing) to Hessenthal.

  5. Hessenthal: turn towards Weibersbrunn. After the town keep right in the direction of Hafenlohr. Follow the Main northwards to Lohr am Main.

  6. Lohr am Main: Recommendation: Spessart Museum. Then from Lohr northeast to Neuendorf, before Langenprozelten left to Ruppertshutten, on to Lohrhaupten, Frammersbach, Partenstein, again via Lohr to Rechtenbach. Direction Weibersbrunn, back via Hessenthal to the starting point in Mespelbrunn.
