Tour tip

The whole tour in one go? Marathon lap. Feasible, but damn exhausting. Not exactly in the sense of a gourmet tour. That’s why we divided the route into two large loops.

North and south. And these laps are divided into two parts each, in order to make them even more ready-to-eat for the more conscious touring riders. One section is about 100 kilometers – this should be easy to do in the morning and / or afternoon, even in a dresser, cruiser speed.

North tour

route: 87 Km / Travel time: 5-6 hours

Start in front of the Hotel Le Colombier in the middle of Colmar> initially towards the east, Neuf-Brisach = Neu-Breisach, towards Germany (D 415)

> then over D 111 to D 9 after progress

> through Durrenentzen and at Baltzenheim on the Rheinuferstrabe

> cozy and with little traffic from here to the north (first D 52, then D 20)

> no traffic, no through-town traffic, no stress (attention! With so much relaxation, even a suddenly appearing roundabout can be frightening!)

> cozy on the D 20 to ferry Rhinau (this brings you from over to Germany for free. But be careful that there is no traffic jam on the other side, then you can just go over and back!)

> through Rhinau D 5 to the northwest

> Benfeld

> D 215 Maistratzheim

> through the tranquil Rhine plain further north to Duttlenheim

> left on D 392 to Molsheim

> Turn right at the roundabout (on the right is the Bugatti studio, which currently houses Bugatti production, in the wide meadow)

> continue to Total petrol station on the left. Opposite the exit is the path to the old Bugatti villa.

South tour

route: 109 km / Travel time: approx. 5-6 hours

GPX

Start in front of the Hotel Le Colombier

> Heading east and at the intersection with D 415 keep left towards Neuf-Brisach or Germany

> over the autobahn, then right out at the roundabout D 13 to Sundhoffen

> on D 13 stay until Balgau

> Fessenheim, left here and then on D 52 along the Rhine

> before it gets too industrial and busy from Chalampe, it is better to turn west and at Bantzenheim on the D 468 evade

> Follow this south to Niffel

> there very briefly again on the D 52 and in Kembs diagonally right to the rear on the D 56 to Habsheim

> left on D 201 and up D 6 right through Dietwiller to Landser

> from here in zigzag through the beautifully hilly Sundgau on the D 21 to Folgensbourg (there is really nothing going on here, except for agriculture. So watch out for dirt on the road!)

> D 473 until D 432 at Ferrette

> right to Vieux-Ferrette and there up to the church and then left into rue de la Montagne

> House No. 5 = Bernard & Jean-François Antony, here you will find cheese from all over France, perfectly matured to the point

> dismount, go in and order the 8 cheese plate (a small cheese tour through France with exquisite products, plus delicious farmhouse bread. Hmm!)

> there is really nothing else here in this sleepy hamlet
