Optimal morning round for grooving or as a great end to a multi-day holiday on Lake Garda. An impressive carousel of curves is offered, because on the short mountain route above Torbole and Arco, hairpin bends condense in the smallest of spaces. Important note for planning: On return days, for example on the weekend or even during the school holidays, things can get heavily jammed on the SS240 motorway slip road. It’s better to only drive outside of rush hour.

Road book

Start in Torbole ➤ at the roundabout on the Strada Statale (SS240) out of town towards the motorway, follow the main route slightly uphill ➤ leave Lago di Loppio on the left SS240 continue to the roundabout (attention! This part of the route is often congested during evening rush hour and holiday traffic – queuing at the rear of the motorcade can become a tough affair) ➤ in the roundabout on the SP88 turn left (now the real driving pleasure begins!)

Follow the route for almost 10 km to Pannone (great asphalt, beautiful wide curved curve radii, varied panoramas) ➤ before the village of Ronzo-Chienis to the left of de SP88 on the SP48 turn ➤ behind Santa Barbara the winds SP48 down through the forest in umpteen bends (attention, risk of vertigo! The road is comparatively narrow and in some places oncoming traffic is difficult to see. This mountain stretch, which is not particularly frequented by cars or freight traffic, is the highlight of the short tour.

In Bolognano-vignole, if you have the time and feel like it, you should drive the section uphill again and then back again as a fun addition) ➤ The leads through a residential area SP48 on the SS240dir ➤ on the main street SS240dir In the direction of Torbole, let your pulse slowly come down again and let the fun lap slowly end (note: at peak times, there is again a strongly increased risk of traffic jams!)
