Does anyone still remember the smart towers at the beginning of the millennium? Ola seems to be adapting the concept, which is clever in itself. Always chic, as long as they don’t end at Smart in the industrial area like they did back then.

The model will be based on the Eterga AppScooter. The Dutch startup was taken over by Ola in summer 2020.

Ole Electric: $ 400 million for electric scooters
Ola Electric invests in mega factory in India
$ 400 million for electric scooters
The Indian manufacturer Ola Electric is planning a mega factory for electric scooters. 10,000 people and 3,000 robots are to build 10 million scooters annually.

The plan is for an electric scooter to roll off the production line in the planned factory in Tamil Nadu, India, every two seconds a day. Ola Electric plans to build this enormous output and nothing less than the largest electric scooter plant in the world. That costs the company a good 400 million dollars.
3,000 robots, 10,000 workers, 10 million scooters
The plan is self-confident: Ola Electric plans to produce 10 million scooters a year as early as mid-2022. This is to be ensured by 10,000 workers and 3,000 robots. For comparison: Tesla’s Gigafactory will start with a good 3,000 workers and, with the planned connected battery plant, increase to 10,000 to 12,000 in the medium term.
$ 400 million
Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has to raise a good 300 million dollars for the construction of the megafactory. In addition, 100 million from the Bank of Baroda will serve as jump-start funding to fund production over the next few weeks.
Ola Electric
Ola is expected to present its first S series electric scooter model for India in August 2021. The booking list is said to have been well filled with 100,000 pre-orders within the first 24 hours.
The new Ola Electric Scooter, which should offer a range of up to 240 kilometers and with the planned number of units, should provide no less than 15 percent of all e-scooters in the world, is to roll off the assembly line. It is based on the AppScooter from Etergo – the Dutch startup was taken over by the Indian manufacturer Ola in summer 2020. The AppScooter is also available in this country. It costs from around 3,400 euros.

If so, then only a powerful electric motorcycle.
I can imagine an electric scooter for commuting and city traffic.
A small, agile electric moped is definitely fun.
None at all.
Conclusion
The mobile gigantism on the subcontinent and even further east throws exorbitant numbers around it like the carnival parade the camels. Around 10 million annual units produced by the Indian manufacturer Ola Electric primarily for the Indian market plans to put things in perspective: In Europe, almost 1.5 million two-wheelers of all performance classes were sold in 2020. That was the amount Ola would make in six weeks
