The four new ones join them fully equipped and in the official blue of the Italian state police MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS to the other two Turismo Veloce and the two rivals that are currently already in the motorcycle unit “Nibbio” of the Milan Police Headquarters are on duty. This doubles the police MV Agusta fleet.

Police fleet now with 8 MV Agustas

The Milan police chief Giuseppe Petronzi and Timur Sardarov, the CEO of MV Agusta, attended the official handover ceremony at the Milan police headquarters. Moto2 rider Simone Corsi, who drove an MV Agusta F2 in the colors of the Fiamme Oro police sports organization in Misano last September, was also there.

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce also rolls into the police configuration with its three-cylinder with a reverse crankshaft. The in-line engine has a displacement of 798 cm³, from which it generates 110 hp at 10,150 rpm and a maximum torque of 80 Nm at 7,100 rpm. With 22 liters, the fuel tank is also well sized and should allow a range of 300 kilometers. The side cases provide 60 liters of storage space – enough to stow emergency equipment and the service weapon.

Automatic clutch and electronic chassis as standard

The Lusso SCS variant of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is equipped with a blibber, electronic chassis, automatic clutch (SCS stands for Smart Clutch System) and navigation system as standard. Sirens and warning lights are a matter of course in the police version.

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS weighs around 200 kilograms and has a payload of 205 kilograms. In several fuel-consumption trips, the MOTORRAD testers also determined a consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers, the top speed is 230 km / h.

Conclusion

The agile Turismo Veloce should help the Milan police to make the city safer. We cannot judge whether that will help. But the drivers will probably have a good time when they are out and about with their new emergency vehicles. How do we come to this statement? See test conclusion in MOTORCYCLE 12/2020.
