New model Crossfire and new 125cc


EICMA 2019

Brixton used EICMA 2019 to present some new models. The focus here was primarily on the new Crossfire model and the new 125 cc.

In 2018, Brixton had already presented an interesting concept bike, also at EICMA, which this year is now available as a series model at the trade fair in Milan. The so-called Brixton Crossfire 500 will be available in a second X version in addition to a basic variant. In addition, Brixton is showing some interesting 125ccs at EICMA 2019, including a Honda Monkey-style mini bike & Co.

The new Crossfire and the X variant are powered by a two-cylinder in-line engine that should produce 48 hp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm and is therefore also suitable for those who have an A2 driving license. In terms of engine technology, nothing has changed compared to last year’s concept bike. The liquid-cooled drive with 486 cm³ has eight valves and two overhead camshafts. The new Crossfire 500 is also visually beautiful – not much has changed compared to last year’s concept bike. The tank in particular should attract a few looks. The round headlight including LED lighting also goes well with the rest of the motorcycle. A USD fork springs at the front, and an adjustable KYB shock absorber at the rear provides increased comfort. A digital speedometer and ABS are also included.

The Brixton Crossfire 500 X was presented at EICMA 2019.

Brixton has also already given some information about the dimensions and weight. The length of the motorcycle should therefore be 2,117 mm. The width is 757 mm; the height 1,116 mm. The driver takes a seat at a height of 795 mm. Brixton also commented on the wheelbase: the manufacturer, which belongs to the KSR Group, specifies 1,416 mm here. The new Crossfire 500 should weigh 180 kilograms. Brixton does not reveal in the accompanying press release how the two models will differ in detail. At first glance, however, the differences are likely to be primarily of an optical nature. However, the manufacturer has not yet revealed how much the two model variants will cost. After all, Brixton gives an approximate time for the market launch: deliveries are to begin in the second quarter of 2020.

Mini-bikes like the Honda Monkey seem to be slowly but surely playing a bigger role again for manufacturers. With the Crossfire 125 XS, Brixton also presented a monkey-like bike at EICMA. The tiny will be available in three paint finishes, a green, a gray and the yellow version shown here. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed a particularly large amount of information about the new Mini-125. However, the bike is powered by an air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine that should produce just under 11 hp. Otherwise, the Crossfire 125 XS seems to concentrate more on the essentials. Brixton has not yet named a price. It should roll out to dealers in summer 2020.

This new model is called the Brixton Crossfire 125 XS.

Brixton has also announced that it will launch another 125cc Crossfire model in the second half of the year, which will be powered by a liquid-cooled engine for the first time. Incidentally, the two 125s are visually similar to their 500 siblings in terms of tank shape.

Another new 125 model is the Brixton Rayburn 125, which aims to draw attention to itself with its classic look. The Rayburn is powered by an air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine that should produce 11 hp at 9,000 rpm. The spring-loaded hump seat designed for one person is reminiscent of other current Bobber models.

The new Brixton Rayburn 125 wants to draw attention to itself with its classic design.

Brixton donated the newcomer a tool bag made of leather, which is mounted just below the seat. Most of the paintwork is blue, with black color elements included. It should also roll out to dealers in the first half of 2020: The price: still open.

Brixton Felsberg 125 XC and new model names

The Brixton Felsberg 125 XC is the successor to the BX 125 X. Technich has not changed much compared to its predecessor. The same drive system is used for the motorization as for the Rayburn. Brixton donated the Felsberg, however, a larger front wheel, a higher front fender and a standard underbody protection. This means that the XC should also be suitable for smaller off-road trips. Brixton has not yet named a price.

The Brixton Felsberg 125 X should be suitable for smaller excursions in the field.

Brixton has also made some changes to the model names. The two models BX 125 and Saxby 250 will be called Cromwell in the future. The models with studded tires are now called Felsberg. In the past, these models could be identified by an X at the end of the model name. The Brixton BX 125 R will be launched in the future under the name Sunray.

Conclusion

Brixton continues where the manufacturer left off at the last EICMA. Also this year numerous new and nice to look models were presented, which at least optically pick up the current retro trend. With the Crossfire 125 XS, a mini bike from the Monkey class is also in the starting blocks, which could be quite interesting. We are excited!
