What are the main players in the motorcycle world doing during the lockdown linked to the Covid-19 pandemic? Laurent Herrmann, communications manager at Bihr, spoke to Journal moto du Net.

MNC: Where are you confined ?

Laurent Herrmann : I have been confined to my home in a small village 30 km from Bihr since April 13 with my family, my wife and two of my three children.

MNC: How are your days going? ?

L. H. : I work 50%, so every morning. Marketing activity has fallen sharply, but we are actively working to offer several ways to support our resellers, in particular with the which allows them to send packages directly to their customers’ homes. The "drop shipping" already existed, but not necessarily well used. Today we launched a communication plan to remind our resellers of this service. We have lunch around 1 p.m. with the whole family. My wife works in the afternoon and I stay outside with the children. There is always plenty to do in the garden, but I spend a lot of time making the old motorcycles that sleep shine…

MNC: What do you miss the most? The least ?

L. H. : What I miss the most is necessarily the social side, the atmosphere at work and the evenings with friends. But there is something else that I miss a lot, and that is to ride … To ride a bike, on a motorbike … I really need to take the air with my hair in the wind. What I miss the least is never having time for "me". There, I found a little.

MNC: What are you afraid of ?

L. H. : I am not afraid, death is part of life. We tend to forget it…

MNC: A book, a film, a series, a record to recommend ?

L. H. : I must admit that I am more active than passive, which means that I hardly read, I hardly watch TV and I don’t listen to much music, except in the car. I spend a lot of my free time painting .

MNC: Your Favorite Motorcycle Video ?

L. H. : I do not have any.

MNC: The first thing you will do at the end of the lockdown ?

L. H. : Even if I live this confinement rather well, I spent a lot of time putting my old bikes back in order and now I can’t wait to get them out to get some fresh air! But I also can’t wait to get my bike out … I miss these beautiful bike rides around the Alsatian Jura !
