MNC: Where are you confined ?

Jean-Luc Mars : I am confined to my home in Seine-et-Marne, alone. I am lucky to have a very bucolic garden on the edge of the Grand Morin. I am aware of this privilege…

MNC: How are your days going? ?

J.-L. M. : There is no typical day … The first days of confinement obviously required a complete overhaul of our activity schedule for this season, whether in terms of sales, production, expenses , projects … The Triumph France team is operating slowly, but all the essential functions are ensured. In recent days, we have started slowly and cautiously to prepare for a restart. Like many, we had to learn to work remotely. April is normally at Triumph the month in which we prepare our budget for the following year, which with us begins on July 1st. In normal times, that sometimes seems difficult, but here, the number of unknowns in the equation makes the mission particularly … sporty! However, we must plan…

MNC: What do you miss the most? The least ?

J.-L. M. : I go to the office from time to time where I am absolutely alone, so without risk! This allows me to ride around 60 kilometers on a motorbike, or even a little more with a few strategic detours … So even if I miss the motorbike, I am not totally deprived of this pleasure! What I miss the most are the friendly outings with my children and what I miss the least … the passport control at Charles-de-Gaulle !

MNC: What are you afraid of ?

J.-L. M. : I’m not afraid … My family is in good health, my employees and my dealers are doing well now (we have had a few cases in the staff and in our network). Of course, we have to prepare for a long and different period of life as we knew it before the Covid. There are many questions and the future is very vague in many ways, but this does not lead to fear, just a form of positive tension in the face of the unknown. !

MNC: A book, a film, a series, a record to recommend ?

J.-L. M. : Rather than a book, an author,. Because he writes wonderfully well, because he is a biker and because he has a great experience of confinement !
