The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati is launching a new all-electric two-wheeler. However, this turns out completely different than expected.

Electric mobility has become an integral part of the world of two-wheelers. Some manufacturers already have e-motorcycles at the start, others are working on them in secret. Even Ducati has already announced to work on the electric motorcycle.

Lightweight with aluminum frame

Now the Reds are launching their first electric model. One that doesn’t want to correspond at all with the idea of an electrically powered Ducati. However, this is in the nature of things, because the Ducati Pro-I Evo is just a banal electric mini-scooter for city traffic. The foldable e-scooter is a further development of the Pro-I Plus with improved technical features. The renewed locking system has an anti-vibration mechanism, which makes the scooter even safer and more resistant. The scooter with a light metal frame stands on 8.5-inch pneumatic tires. The dead weight is given as 12, the payload as 100 kilograms. At the front, the scooter decelerates via the wheel hub motor, while a disc brake supports the rear. The sporty design is being sharpened in the area of the rear fender and, according to Ducati, is intended to emphasize Ducati’s racing DNA.

A 350 watt electric motor ensures full acceleration orgies. The LED lighting should provide safety at night and limited visibility. The LED color display provides the driver with the most important information and the battery capacity is 280 Wh. This should enable ranges of between 25 and 30 kilometers. The maximum speed is between six and 25 km / h, depending on the mode selected.

Really cheap for a Ducati

The potential of the Pro-I Evo is further increased by the integrated app. The app is designed like a virtual garage in which several Ducati Urban e-Mobility products are registered and “parked” can be. The user can make use of technical assistance services in real time via WhatsApp chat.

The Pro-I Evo has been available in Europe since February 1, 2021 at Ducati dealers and in the official Ducati e-shop at a price of 399 euros. Alternatively, it can also be ordered from specialist retailers and large online shops for consumer electronics.

Which electric concept on two wheels is the right one for you?

If so, then only a powerful electric motorcycle.

I can imagine an electric scooter for commuting and city traffic.

A small, agile electric moped is definitely fun.

None at all.

Conclusion

In order to be able to shine with sustainable mobility solutions, Ducati also offers electric scooters labeled under its name. Except for the lettering, it has nothing in common with the motorcycles of the Reds. But the scooter is really cheap for a Ducati.
