3 intensity levels, 2 battery packs, insulating Primaloft microfiber
A "sporty" cut for these heated gloves at € 229
For many bikers, gloves are the weak link in any winter gear and there are many who have never really found the pair of conventional technology gloves that keep their promises.. Hence the temptation to go electric. Just put a small log in the system and presto, your hands are warm for several hours on the road.
First known for its abrasion resistant jeans, Esquad recently switched to heated gloves and recently introduced two new products, the Miler and the Molina. The technology of both is identical: the Miler differs only from the Molina by its sportier cut, materialized by the reinforcement of a shell at the level of the phalanges. For this, the additional cost compared to the Molina is 40 €, which is not negligible..
These gloves come with two sets of batteries; a charger supplied with is equipped with a double jack socket for simultaneous recharging of each pair of batteries. Then, thanks to a large snap button located on the top of the glove, the heating level is adjustable to three intensities, which correspond to three colors: white, blue, red.
Getting started
What we can already see:
- The threading is easy and their template content allows to maintain a good sensitivity on the controls.
- The two velcro fasteners are easy to handle and hold perfectly well.
- Putting it in place, the battery is a little thick and this could be a bit of a nuisance, if paired with a jacket whose mouthpieces on the arms are tight. Compatibility to be checked, therefore.
- When driving for a few hours at 4 ° C, no real feeling of cold, while pseudo winter gloves are already showing their limits in these conditions..
- Finally, the build quality seems quite decent
Curdling waiting
It was not cold enough to test these gloves over the long haul again and reach their full potential. On the other hand, a small 4 ° C in Paris has already convinced us of their effective insulation, since their intrinsic heat, thanks in part to an ultra-fine Primaloft microfiber, did not ask me to turn on the heating..
Esquad announces an autonomy of 3 hours on the first heating level, which corresponds to 35-40 ° C.
So, we readily admit that the context means that for now, these Esquad Miler heated gloves have not yet been able to demonstrate their full potential. It is true that winter 2016/2017 was not so cold and we had to wait for winter 2017/2018 to finally test these gloves in real cold conditions..
What we can say is that the batteries are recharged quickly on an AC outlet (a good hour), but unfortunately, the autonomy observed in real conditions does not exceed this same hour by much. We also note that of the three heating levels, only the highest (red, therefore) was used most often because the other two are not really felt. And again, in red, we do not burn our hands either, even if it is true that a gentle heat is a pleasant moment when we are plunged in the dark, on the murky urban highways of the Ile de France. . And under these conditions, having two sets of batteries is a plus.
What we can say, too, is that Esquad has made its products evolve rapidly, taking into account the feedback of its users: proof is that these Miller evolved into Miller 2: during the test of these Miller 2 by Le Repaire, it was indeed noted that the battery life increased to 3 hours, which is starting to be very correct. And in fact, the Miller 2 are no longer delivered with a single set of batteries..

10 years of Vmax! What a pleasure ! A bike in town, elsewhere the V4 does not stop propelling you as soon as you turn the handle, you ride in permanent pleasure. A motorcycle that drives, that takes an angle, that brakes hard, torque to sell, all this in the unique symphony of the V4, a real engine, a real legend. Too bad for those who believe the articles of journalists, Houai a Goldwing, it’s a Goldwing … or a Harley … worse it’s original and above all it’s light.
When we cross that with Maxou, we laugh
