The career of the 250cc twin began in 1983 on the Japanese market as the GPZ 250. The second edition started in 1986 as Kawasaki Ninja 250 R in the USA and Canada and was the most successful Kawasaki among the Americans with over 23,000 copies sold. From 1988 to 2007, the third generation started with a practically unchanged engine base and was called the GPX 250 R or ZZR 250.

From 2008 the speed-hungry two-cylinder, now in its fourth edition with injection instead of carburettor and in completely new packaging, also took off in Europe. Price talk! Conversion excesses are not an issue with the Kawasaki Ninja 250 R: Exhaust, footrests, lowering – there are usually no more construction sites. If any.
