Dirk Schafer is one of the most renowned travel and motorcycle photographers – in MOTORRAD you can regularly enjoy his motorcycle travel reports. For wanderlust, good entertainment and new insights, we recommend his Livestream “The great freedom – 35 years on a motorcycle through the world”. The time has come on January 31st at 5 p.m. The lecture is free of charge, but a donation is very welcome.

From clueless clippers to sought-after photographers

“Dirk Schafer’s best selection leads you to places of longing and through dreamlike landscapes, to the Orient, around the Mediterranean, to Africa, New Zealand and California. On the way he describes special moments with people of all stripes. And he pokes at his own story, which turned an unsuspecting photo-clipper into a sought-after photographer, filmmaker and storyteller.”, so the announcement in the press release.

To the livestream

Look forward to touching, funny and curious stories in the livestream and a talkative Dirk Schafer who will answer all your chat questions. One of Dirk’s original motorcycles will also be in the studio.

Movie tip “Namibia – 10 lives”

And if you would like to enjoy even more motorcycle travel material by Dirk Schafer on the sofa, we can do the film “Namibia – 10 lives” recommend. For this, the filmmakers Dirk Schafer, Andreas Prinz and Stephan Fritsch were on the road with two 700 Teneres and a Landcruiser in Namibia. The slopes lead through extinct volcanic craters, bizarre canyon systems and of course to many of Namibia’s well-known highlights. Nine cameras ensure that the viewer is repeatedly offered surprising perspectives and can often be there up close on the bikes.

Conclusion

Just because we currently cannot discover the world by motorcycle ourselves (Corona, winter, something is always …), that doesn’t mean that motorcycle travel is not an issue. On the contrary – at home on the couch, such images are currently in greater demand than ever and can keep the traveler’s heart warm.
