Motorcycle and scooter market: big struggles at the start of the 2010 season
In April 2010, 23,357 motorcycles found buyers in France, almost as many as a year ago (-1.2%). But behind this apparent calm lie fierce battles, from which Kawasaki, BMW, Ducati, Piaggio and Kymco emerged victorious this month….
Big struggles at the start of the season

In April 2010, only 282 registrations were missing to match the number of registrations in April 2009: 23,357 registrations this year against 23,639 last year, an almost negligible decline of -1.2%.

For the 125 cc, the results are generally good: 10,032 new registrations, ie a decrease of -2.2% compared to April 2009. Thus Piaggio, Kymco and to a lesser extent Suzuki, MBK and Sym had a prolific April 2010 while Honda, Peugeot and Jonway were unable to maintain their sales levels and their places. Far ahead, Yamaha takes advantage of the "landing" of its new Xmax to raise its head.
On the side of large engines, it is the big upheaval! Kawasaki takes the lead in sales (in April and over the first four months), Suzuki is waking up but Yamaha and Honda continue to plunge … Behind the four Japanese, BMW is once again exploding its scores and Ducati is still going strong, while Harley-Davidson cruises quietly and KTM and Triumph brake a bit.
