The market for motorcycles and scooters of "125 cc and more" had recorded two fine increases in 2014 (+ 12.3% then + 8.7%), ensured by favorable weather conditions and by the release of new particularly suitable models. to French customers.

Based on a "bright" month (read our), the slightly lower month of April 2015 (-0.8%, or a deficit of only 147 registrations) is not strictly speaking negative.

Sharing the same number of working days as its counterpart in 2014 (21), last month was even positive for small displacement (125 cc and some 110 or 115), since 5,466 small motorcycles or scooters found takers in France, i.e. 299 more than last year.

Once again first in sales of 125 in April, Honda (+ 52.7% Vs April 2014!) Also takes the lead in the "provisional ranking" thanks to its new GT scooter: the Forza 125 which, for its first full month, has put a big slap in the Yamaha Xmax 125 (-7.8% for the Blues in April).

Still third in this sector in France, but first of the – big – three-wheeled scooters, Piaggio had a difficult fourth month in 2015, as did Peugeot (respectively -18.7 and -23.8%). Kymco (+ 14.7%) completes the monthly Top 5 just ahead of MBK (-15.7%), Sym (-5.6%), Mash (+ 104.5%) and Suzuki (-8.3%) . KTM closes the Top 10 (-0.6%).

On the large displacement side (over 125 cc), April 2015 turned out to be less good than April 2014: the bar of 12,000 units has not been crossed. The fault is somewhat with Yamaha (-5.9%), not bad with Honda (-15.3%) and Harley-Davidson (-12.2%), as well as Suzuki (-7.1%) and Triumph ( -11.9%).

Behind the number one in the sector in France (Yamaha, what else?), Honda slightly improved its score (+ 2.8%) and BMW progressed more clearly (+ 7.7%). In twice the volume, Ducati continues to accelerate twice as much (+ 13.3%), imitated by KTM (+ 12.2%).
