There were, at least in the first race, Marc Marquez, Maverick Vinales, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Marquez, Aleix Espargaro, Joan Mir, Iker Lecuona, Miguel Oliveira, Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Rins. Originally, Valentino Rossi should also have started, but the Italian canceled his participation afterwards. The start was on the virtual racetrack in Mugello. Alex Marquez secured victory in the first race, in which there were numerous virtual falls.

The race went over a distance of six laps. Before that, there was a five-minute qualifying session in which the starting grid was determined. The entire esports event was broadcast on Sunday March 29th on the official YouTube channel and other MotoGP social media channels. The race was also broadcast on DAZN España, Sky Italia, Canal +, Bt, ServusTV, Eurosport, Ote, Swisstv, Viasat, Pop, Sporttv, Sport5 Israel, Sportklub, Mtv, Finand, Nbc and Espn Latam.

Virtual race on the Red Bull Ring

The second race was on April 12th. The start was on the virtual Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria). Various MotoGP stars who had not yet participated in the first race took part. Valentino Rossi, Maverick Vinales, Danilo Petrucci, Tito Rabat, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Marquez, Marc Marquez, Takaaki Nakagami, Francesco Bagnaia and Michele Pirro were there. Francesco Bagnaia took victory in the second race. Maverick Vinales, Alex Marquez and Marc Marquez landed on the following places. By the way, almost the entire field of participants was involved in a crash at the beginning of the race, which resulted in numerous falls.

Also Moto2 and Moto3 riders at the start

The third virtual race has now also taken place. The start was on May 3rd on the virtual race track in Jerez. This time, in addition to MotoGP, there are also Moto2 and Moto3 riders. From MotoGP Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez, Danilo Petrucci, Maverick Vinales, Alex Rins, Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnaia, Tito Rabat, Miguel Oliveira, Iker Lecuona and Lorenzo Savadori were there. In Moto2, Marcel Schrotter was also a German driver at the start. The victories ultimately went to Maverick Vinales (MotoGP), Lorenzo Baldassarri (Moto2) and Gabriel Rodrigo (Moto3).

On May 17th the virtual championship goes into the next round. The fourth race will take place on the virtual track in Misano. The start will be on Sunday, May 17th, 2020. The starting field has already been announced. Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez, Maverick Vinales, Valentino Rossi, Michelle Pirro, Joan Mir, Lorenzo Savadori, Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnaia, Takaaki Nakagami and Tito Rabat will be there. In addition to MotoGP, a MotoE race will also be held on the virtual track in Misano, in which Matteo Ferrari, Xavier Simeon and Mike Di Meglio, among others, will compete.

In keeping with the virtual races, the latest offshoot of the MotoGP video game series has been available since April 23rd.
