Company - Confined with ... Manoël Bonn, Marketing Director Harley-Davidson France - Used HARLEY-DAVIDSON

What are the main players in the motorcycle world doing during the lockdown linked to the Covid-19 pandemic? Manoël Bonn, Harley-Davidson France Marketing Director, spoke to Journal moto du Net.

MNC: Where are you confined ?

Manoël Bonn : From the first rumors of confinement, we joined our native Alsatian countryside with my wife and our two sons, 3 years and 3 months old, to live close to nature and in peace. This allows us to cross this confinement in peace and to work calmly. These are privileged conditions of confinement and I have a thought for all those, in particular some of my colleagues, who must stay in small areas in town without the slightest hint of greenery … Roll on the end of confinement !

MNC: How are your days going? ?

Mr. B. : During the day, the sequence of meetings follows one another with busy work sessions to implement new ways of communicating, scaffolding the return to freedom and full activity. What is precious to me is above all to keep in touch with our community. This is a special time when we have to come up with inventive solutions, both to help the dealer network and to engage in discussion with those who are passionate about the Harley-Davidson brand. In the evening, the schedule is always full between children’s rituals and the preparation of traditional and famous Alsatian dishes (we never take enough advantage of it)! On weekends I live with my eldest son’s learning, it brings me a lot of happiness. I was able to teach him to ride a bike, which is a real satisfaction for him and a great pride for me. These are moments that will be indelible in his memory and I am delighted. His first sensations on two wheels and this desire for freedom that we all carry within us, we will have developed together.

MNC: What do you miss the most? The least ?

Mr. B. : I am driven by optimism and the desire to bounce back. However, due to the duration of this pandemic, there will be induced economic and health consequences for all. After several weeks of "confined" life, what I lack the most is immaterial: playing basketball with my teammates, going out freely with family and above all seeing my friends "in the flesh", even if social networks make it possible to get together and continue to exchange. I can’t wait to celebrate with them the end of this invisible evil. Fortunately, memories of unforgettable moments resurface to fuel our dream of escape. On the other hand, I am in no hurry to endure Parisian traffic again to get to the office. It is wasted time that can be used in the service of business or family life.

MNC: What are you afraid of ?

Mr. B. : My concern is more about the future and the living space that will be given to my sons in the face of any form of epidemic. The safety of my loved ones is a priority, even more so in the current context. My support goes mainly to health professionals and all stakeholders as a whole, who risk their lives to save ours and allow society to move forward..

MNC: A book, a film, a series, a record to recommend ?

Mr. B. : As an athlete and from the height of my little two meters, "The Last Dance" is my documentary series of the moment (on ESPN and Netflix, Editor’s note). It is devoted to the American basketball team of the Chicago Bulls during the 1997-1998 season and to its global star, Michael Jordan. On another note, I recommend him, a young Franco-American classical pianist who will help you travel while staying in your living room. !

MNC: Your Favorite Motorcycle Video ?

Mr. B. : Our whole thing starts off with a bang with the exclusive documentary "Willie G. Davidson: Artist, Designer, Legend" which will introduce you to the life and incredible talent of our former Deputy General Manager and Director of Concept and Design. As well as many other unseen documentaries from our archives and from around the world.

MNC: The first thing you will do at the end of the lockdown ?

Mr. B. : A ride with family and friends will certainly be the first step, in order to rediscover real sensations and doubly appreciate the taste of freedom.
