The latest figures released by the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory (ONISR) show a clear drop of -17.4% in the number of road deaths in September 2015 (262 against 317 in) … without any link cause and effect with the buzzing Friday October 2 by the Prime Minister.
"The best September since 1948" according to 40 million motorists
Bodily accidents fell by -5% (5,060 against 5,324), the number of people injured on the roads by 4.5% (6,310 against 6,608) and that of hospitalized people by 2.3% (2,342 people against 2,398).
Over the first nine months of the year, the increase in the number of fatalities in road accidents is thus limited to + 1.8% compared to the same period in 2014 … which does not prevent the Minister from inside to emphasize that it was important not to "let your guard down", reaffirming on the contrary "the determination which is his in terms of road safety and the full mobilization of his services" (police and gendarmerie, without forgetting the more and more numerous to want to share this juicy rentier security market, Editor’s note)…
