Since January 19, 2013, the new A2 motorcycle license only gives access to certain models. Here is the list of the new Ducati corresponding to the A2 motorcycle category: no more than 35 kW and a power / weight ratio less than 0.2 kW / kg.

January 19, 2013 marks a turning point in the history of the motorcycle license: as part of European harmonization, the A license undergoes changes that Site readers – who, as everyone knows, are a little more fortunate than others – already know by heart (read).

The creation of an intermediate category called A2 (between the A1 125 cc license and the A license) is the main novelty. It is "motorcycles with or without sidecar of a power not exceeding 35 kilowatts and whose power / weight ratio does not exceed 0.2 kilowatt per kilogram. Power cannot result from restraining a vehicle developing more than twice its power".

At Ducati, three new models meet the standards of this new A2 category that young bikers will have to attend for two years, before passing if they wish the training of the "real" license A.

"The new Hypermotard 821 cc could well integrate this category A2 but we are awaiting further information from the parent company…", informs us the subsidiary Ducati West Europe. In the meantime, here is the list of the bikes already available.

The cost of clamping / unclamping

Site asked Ducati West Europe to estimate the possible cost of clamping and unlocking.

"The clamping consists of placing a plate limiting the opening of the butterfly body. The time for the operation in concession (at an official dealer of the brand to obtain the certificate which gives entitlement to the approval certificate) is one hour. The cost of the part is 14 € TTC, to which must be added approximately 50 € of labor".
