Museum tour – Enzklosterle to Nagoldtalsperre

Tour tip

Visiting a museum instead of a curve carousel? Isn’t that too boring? Not if the two can be combined: first romp around in gloomy fairytale forests on winding streets, then park the motorcycle and immerse yourself in the fantastic worlds of the history of technology.

Since the route often leads over secondary roads and the smallest, sometimes bumpy roads, the entire route can only be mastered in one day with good endurance and sporting ambitions. Then, however, would be the topic “Museum tour” missed. In any case, we recommend an overnight stop in Schramberg in order to experience the local museum landscape (car and clock museum, terrace building Junghans) at leisure and to take enough time on the second day for the grandiose vehicle museum in Marxzell.

route: 300 km / Travel time: approx. 9-10 hours (2 days for a stopover with an overnight stay)

  • Via Hirsau (wonderful monastery ruins, make a short stop!) to the B 294 and in Calmbach to Bad Wildbad (mountain railway, bike park)
  • on the branch line from B 294 to Enzklosterle (excellent Black Forest cake in Cafe Klosterle)
  • on the L 351, which is very nice to drive, to Simmersfeld and then turn to Beuren to see the cute St. Anna chapel
  • Fluffy downhill to the winding L 362 along the Nagoldsperre and behind Igelsberg onto the B 294, but then immediately take the short connection to the B 462

  • after leaving town on the small L 405 via Schomberg to Schenkenzell (great route, little traffic) and on the B 462 to Schiltach and finally to Schramberg
  • Museum landscape worth seeing in Schramberg “Inventor times” and watch manufacturer Junghans Terrassenbau-Museum
  • In Lauterbach turn right on Albert-Gold-Strabe uphill towards Sulzbach, continue on narrow forest road to Kirnbach (little village hidden deep in the valley)
  • through Wolfach (beautiful town center) and Oberwolfach to Schapbach (winding route with good asphalt, but some through-town traffic and speed restrictions)
  • optional: approx. four kilometers after Schapbach turn left into Seebachstrabe for a detour (approx. 4 km) to the picturesque Glaswaldsee (approx. 15 minutes on foot from the hiking car park)
  • in Bad Rippoldsau keep left towards Kniebis (nice mountain route to drive)
  • turn left, a few kilometers on the B 28, then north on the B 500 (Schwarzwaldhochstrabe)
