Yamaha presents its little novelties for 2010

News - Yamaha presents its small novelties for 2010 - Used YAMAHA

After the R1 and XJ6 of 2009, the first new Yamaha 2010 models seem much less striking: next year we will have to be content with a faired Diversion F, new maps for the R6 and FZ1, a white Tmax and ‘a BW’S 125.

One year after the release of its R1 with the original (de) setting and its new Diversion – with its stripped version XJ6 -, Yamaha offers for 2010 "new features" much less captivating. So let’s focus on the Diversion "F", the new maps of the R6 and FZ1, the touch-ups of the YBR, the white Tmax and the brand new BW’S 125…

A new XJ6 Diversion "F"

Launched in 2009, the Diversion was equipped in 2010 with an integral fairing – "Fairing" in English – which gave birth to a "new" model: the Diversion F. Thus adorned, the little Yamaha will not only transport you to work every day, but also take you much further.

"The new XJ6 Diversion F offers increased protection against the wind and improves your comfort", confirms the brand with tuning forks which has modeled on its friendly roadster a fairing that is both elegant and a bit sporty.

Of course, this addition of plastic does not go without a slight increase in weight: 205 kg for the XJ6, 211 kg for the Diversion and 217 kg for this version F. Finally, count an additional 5 kg for the optional ABS..

The technical characteristics of this new Diversion are exactly the same as those of its sisters and the flexible and full-length 600 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine, developing 78 hp and 59.7 Nm, is still housed in a frame. steel mounted on simple but devilishly effective suspension elements.

Available in blue or black, the Diversion F should undergo an increase compared to the two pre-existing versions, but which should remain minimal because in this category, the price remains a major advantage..

Touch-ups on the R6, FZ1 and YBR 125

Japanese manufacturers are definitely less and less inclined to "revolutionize" their hypersports: while Suzuki France has announced that there will be no new Gex to be eaten next year (read), Yamaha is content to review the mapping and exhaust of its R6 2010.

"In 2010 the YZF-R6 CPU mapping was revised, as was the exhaust design, to give this bike a better performance curve and give the rider a real sense of acceleration at all speeds", assures Yamaha.

Half-heartedly admitting the fact that the R6 was slightly slack at mid-speed against its rivals – an Englishwoman, in particular, gave it a hard time – the engineers assure that "more torque at mid-range will improve the feel for the rider, which will make the YZF-R6 an even more attractive mid-range bike". To be tested, therefore !

We count on Yamaha not to touch the price of its Supersport (€ 12,099), whose black color remains in the catalog while blue evolves smoothly and white replaces the red of 2009.

The mapping of the FZ1 – roadster and Fazer version – will also be modified in 2010 to optimize the engine’s already impressive performance "at mid-speed and at high speeds", indicate the manufacturer in Japan, but also"at low speed"according to the Yamaha Motor France website … In short, everywhere !

We also note the arrival of blue and white colors very "corporate" and rather successful. Like the R6, the FZ1 and its Fazer version will be available in white or black, very trendy colors these days..

The YBR 125 for its part retains its three 209 colors – red, black and white – but at the same time benefits from welcome aesthetic changes..

The most remarkable concern the scoops of tanks, much more prominent than the old ones. These new elements "give a more assertive and muscular look while protecting the tank more", says Yamaha.

A new dashboard, a redesigned silencer and more ergonomic grab handles for the passenger are all new features that should allow the little Yam ‘to continue her brilliant career. !

The 10th anniversary of the Tmax and the birth of the BW’S 125

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Yamaha is offering a special edition to its famous Tmax, the only maxi scooter to compete with mid-capacity roadsters in France in terms of sales..

Called "Tmax White Max", the Yamaha scoot is adorned for the occasion with a white dress – necessarily -, a two-tone saddle and exclusive graphics. Some parts are anodized in gray or black, just to marry perfectly with the superb titanium-colored rims and black interior.

Finally, Yamaha is launching a brand new scooter: the BW’S 125, tailored for the city and its traffic jams. If aesthetic side, fans of the famous BW’S 50 will undoubtedly remain hungry, practical side, the "commuters" should be satisfied.

Its small 4-stroke single-cylinder with electronic injection promises to be economical, its size easy to handle and its 12-inch all-terrain tires suitable for all weather conditions. It remains to discover the storage capacity under the saddle, the availability date and the price … !
