Yamaha Tmax 530 Hyper Modified by Marcus Waltz

The principle is simple: Yamaha entrusted a new Tmax 530 to three talented two-wheel trainers (the French Ludovic Lazareth, the Californian Roland Sands and the German Marcus Waltz) and gave them free rein to transform it into a "unique machine. reflecting their own style ", explains the builder of Iwata.
Marcus Waltz is the first to return his copy by revealing the photos of a Tmax Hyper Modified … "not-so-modified-that-that", in fact !
Because in view of the usual extravagance of the German customizer, the result seems surprisingly sober! A choice assumed by Waltz, with the aim of "preserving everything that made the identity of the Tmax" and avoiding "transforming it into a spaceship"…
“I have focused on preserving the baselines while optimizing every detail and reducing the weight of the machine,” he explains. "I took almost 14 kg off the Tmax, mainly by changing the exhaust, fitting an ultralight Racing lithium battery, removing the grab handle and as many plastic parts as possible".
The German also replaced the original fairings with high-gloss carbon fiber elements and moved the mirrors to the ends of the handlebars, cafe-racer style..
"Changing the look of the Tmax was not a walk in the park: as there is no market for custom scooters, I had to create the parts myself", comments Marcus Waltz.
"To be frank, I hope I can keep this machine after I finish the project. It is perfect for city driving and it totally stands out. I love riding around town on this machine," he confesses..
"It’s much easier than on a motorcycle and it catches the eye. Some of my clients who have seen me modify the Tmax have asked me if I had not gone crazy! Now that they have seen the result, many of these customers ordered a Tmax from Yamaha! ", continues Marcus Waltz, who impatiently awaits to be able to compare his work to the Tmax Hyper Modified of Lazareth and Sands.
